- With her pitched-down dark edits & wuenderkaemmer of records, C.love creates a byzantine disco - a style signified by its lush, intricately layered sound & a provocative, pan cultural catalogue of tempo.C.Love aka Zouyina When you ask her fans, “When do you listen to C.Love?”; you will get a cross-section of responses. They are hiking through lush tropical trails in Hong Kong, they are at a rooftop celebration in Morocco, they are in a dark and sultry red-lit underground in Berlin; but no matter where her tracks are amplified, they pave roads that wind, climb and roll seamlessly into our ears through to our hearts and minds. Her stand-alone method of laying out musical architecture blends waves of familiarity with the strange and unusual, each track with its own unique purpose and design. To feed her creativity, C.Love is known to combine audio clips she has picked up through her travels alongside collaborations she has prompted in make-shift global studios and experimentations produced with her artillery of instruments in her Yucca Valley studio. From the deep hum of the self-made Didgeridoo, to the Theremin and the Sonica; each track is born with its own intention and personality, some fast and funky, some exotic, mysterious and downtempo. When it comes to DJ sets, C.Love plays from forest floors (Magik Forest Festival//England; Sunset Campout//California) to city center discos (Mini Muzikhol//Instanbul; Exchange//LA) and iconic hotspots (Bar 25+Kater Blau//Berlin; Ace Hotel//Palm Springs) and has had the pleasure of sharing the turntables with Carl Cox, Baris K, Esa Williams, Pyschemagik, Navid Izadi and Habibi Funk, to name a few. She has been released on vinyl (Gatorboots Vol. 5//C.Love) featuring reworks of Dolly Parton and Aretha Franklin and in 2016 formed the “Sisters of Z”, creating a new platform of expression which has been attributed to a modern take on Grace Jones, Stevie Nicks and the Eurythmics. C.Love currently lives in California desert, splitting her time between music production and emergency medicine. She continues to open herself to opportunities that allow her to share her unique interpretations and passion for music that inevitably leads to an all-nite party.
