- Check our stuff at Beatport! Bit.ly/checkcordycepCordycep consists of Cheryl Sin & Dony Han, two DJs who grew up in 90’s club scene. Their music style is influenced by sample tracks. Music inspiration comes from 90’s hip hop, from the likes of Public Enemy, The Juice Crew, New Jack Swing and Classic House. Other inspiration stems from producers such as The Bomb Squad, Marly Marl, Armand van Helden and Kenny Dope. The Cordycep project was created out of passion for breaks, and all types of songs with a nice break in it. They threw that into a mix which led to the first disco edit of ‘7PM’. This edit was quickly picked up by DJs such as SHMLSS (XXX) and Greg Wilson (Defected/Glitterbox). Since then, they’ve released tracks on labels Chopshop and Hot Digits. Their music continues to evolve making every release sound different. There are still more releases scheduled by the end of the year.
