Biografía
- As a DJ, producer, remixer and co-founder of WIDE Records, DJ Cutlass Supreme has taken his unique mix of UK Bass, Booty Breaks, Ghetto Tech and Jungle to clubs, festivals and radio shows across Europe.In 2008 Cutlass has been busy remixing the legendary Unique 3 and DJ Slugo, and putting together the almighty “WIDE Records Presents…” compilation featuring 15 artists from across the globe. Between DJ gigs he has been working on his own material for an EP due later in the year as well as uncovering new talent for a slew of releases on WIDE Records. Originally starting out as a Drum & Bass DJ in the mid 90's, Cutlass Supreme discovered the US sound of Ghetto Tech after a chance meeting with Detroit's DJ Godfather in 2001. As a result, WIDE began booking US DJs to play at their parties in London and the likes of DJ Godfather, Disco D and DJ Assault and Ectomorph all joined Cutlass behind the decks. The now infamous WIDE events were described as everything from a club which ‘injects a bit of fun back into dancefloors, making people shake their butts to seriously dirty music’ to ‘mental, frankly’. The release of his acclaimed UK Bass mix CD on Novamute in 2003 was followed by appearances on BBC Radio 1's Breezeblock and gigs and festivals across Europe. The UK dance press were quick to catch the virus, too with Cutlass described as ‘one of the most refreshingly inventive jocks we’ve heard in a long time’ and his rapid-fire mixing style as ‘like the Plump DJs only more funky and infinitely more dirty.’ He’s been written about in magazines including Mixmag, DJ, XLR8R, Knowledge and RWD. With the arrival of dubstep and emerging niche and bassline sounds, interest in the UK Bass sound has never been greater with Cutlass embracing an even wider selection of low-end party tracks in his DJ Sets. The recording of his 2007 performance at Bloc has been his most requested mix to date with 1,000s of downloads and a follow up for B.A.S.S Radio has now been released for free download (http://www.bassradio.net/descargas/DJ_Cutlass_Supreme.htm).
