  • Their use heavy analog basslines mixed with dreamy soundscapes make for a great foundation on their tracks, but its those dramatic sequences and melodic arpeggios blended with their intuitive use of vocal samples that really captivates their audience...
t all started in the early 90's, when Miami Beach natives Danny Polit and Nelson Gonzalez met through friends in the rave scene at the notorious "Edge" in Ft.Lauderdale, FL. now called Revolution. That's when the rave scene was literally blowin up here in Florida. Although “they were always into music as kids”, there common bond for dance music made them discover that it would become their life’s passion. Driven by the desire to successfully break into the dance music industry they increased their intensity as a team by opening a warehouse together in North Miami Beach where they built a studio and an underground club where they threw some mind blowing underground parties to raise money for equipment almost every weekend for some years. They did whatever it took to make their dreams a reality. “Real Hustlers”. That’s why together they named themselves “Dance Music Pimps”. “While the crowd was dancing and having a great time”, they always observed the people’s reactions to the way the DJs worked them. They also loved to watch legendary DJs like Danny Tenaglia and Junior Vasquez during the late nights at “Liquid” in South Beach. They learned how to manipulate and work the crowd by both of them spinning on four turntables and also using synthesizers in the live mix and setting dramatic sequences. In one of their parties they met Russel Faibisch, the owner of Ultra Productions. You know Ultra, the biggest and baddest electronic music festival in the country! He loved the music and put them on the Line Up. Ultra made DMP set a firm foundation for their reputation as dance music artists. They took the world of dance music by full force when they got their first record deal through from Intune Records. Since 2002, they've been blowin up the scene at Ultra and numerous clubs and music festivals around the Country. You can also hear thier live sets at the Ultra Xm Radio Show. Their use heavy analog basslines mixed with dreamy soundscapes make for a great foundation on their tracks, but its those dramatic sequences and melodic arpeggios blended with their intuitive use of vocal samples that really captivates their audience. Dance Music Pimps are full of twists and turns. They Quote: “We love emotional music that can be felt. We love to give people a feeling like their in a journey and have been to a million places when they hear us”
