Damian Wilson has been at the front if the dance scene for the last decade either producing the biggest radio show in the world for BBC Radio 1, a resident for Type at the Cross in London, A&R manager for Cr2 Records and now even moving into production. During his 8 years producing Pete Tong’s Essential Selection (the most listened to dance music program around the world), on BBC Radio 1 (1998-2006), Damian traveled the globe recording shows from the Berlin Love Parade, record shops in Chicago, beach clubs in Miami, festivals in South Africa and of course weekly from Ibiza during the summer when Pete Tong started his residency on the island for Pure Pacha. He has been instrumental in interviewing the biggest DJ's including Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Tiesto, Sasha, Paul Van Dyk, Danny Tenaglia to name a few, mixing and editing parts of the show's and in finding new records to pass to the DJ's. Along with producing and developing the Essential Selection, Damian also produced for Judge Jules (1999-2003), Dave Pearce (2004-2006), Seb Fontaine (2001-2004) and Mary Anne Hobbs (2000-2002). It was in 2001 when Seb Fontaine personally invited Damian to be resident at his new night 'Type' at The Cross in London. During his 6 years at Type Damian rocked the middle room with his energetic style and was equally at home warming up for the likes of Norman Cook, Eric Morillo and Jon Carter in the main room. From there he’s played for David Morales at Pacha London, DJ Sneak at The End, Tom Stephan at Turnmills and with regular gigs for Wonderland at the Ministy Of Sound. Damian has been able to grace some of the best parties around the globe from Nikki Beach in Miami to Mecca in Prague to Pacha in Ibiza and Valencia. Damian is now A&R Manager at Cr2 Records, a job he's always wanted to do, signing the likes of Arno Cost, John Dahlback, Kurd Maverick, DJ Jeroenski, DJ Wady, Gold Ryan and Harry Choo Choo Romero. Along with signing records he is licensing the biggest tracks around the globe as Cr2 Records forge their way into the compilation's market which he mixes and edits for the label. Damian has also found his way into the studio (at long last) and produced his first track ‘(Can You) Take Me Away’ which has had plays from Pete Tong and Judge Jules on Radio 1, Andi Durrant and Sarah Main on Galaxy, and features on the Miami & Ibiza 2008 compilations for the label and an up and coming Danny Rampling album. The single, featuring vocals from Ann Bailey, is due in August on Cr2 Records and set to become a 2008 summer anthem. Damian passion for house music is his driving force to still search for the right CD, download or when they come through, piece of vinyl which made the radio show's he worked on a must listen or for his current role at Cr2 Records which is the ethos for his job at the present - bring the best dance music to Cr2 Records. But it’s his love for playing those records to a crowd that keeps his love of house music alive and whenever he’s rocking the clubs he’s always making sure that the best music is the only thing they dance too!
