- DJ City is a producer and dj with a love for early house music and the queer culture that built it. Often romantic but never nostalgic he plays and writes music about night life and the world that evolves around it.DJ City's first notable release came on Stockholm imprint Born Free in 2018. Previously he had been releasing small edition cassettes but it was this record "Teenage Sex Drive" that brought his music to larger audiences. By this time he had also recently become a resident DJ at Berlins infamous Cocktail d'Amore at Griessmuhle and was experiencing a renaissance in his djing as he got to know the collective and artists involved with the party. In 2020 he had a string of releases on Public Possession which since then has become the principal home of his music. With these releases he established his sound that departs from italo, synth pop and new wave, and through early Chicago style house music lands in what it sounds like today. He started doing vocals by himself and cultivated a type of world making that is present in most of his music still.
