Still very young he already joined the electronic music scene of Naples, by taking part in organizing the first progressive events nights allover the Campania region Very soon the exploding energy of those parties made him realize that music was his real interest, the only thing who really spurred his fantasy. His first appearance was in1995, as Marco P.; he soon became one of the most popular resident Djs and played in the most innovative clubs of the moment, the Waikiky and the OldRiver. In the mid Nineties, when electronic music was emerging as “alternative” to dance music, the young Neapolitan partyscene was growing exciting and full of energy.Everyone felt they were becoming totally part of that cultural innovative movement called, by the modern sociologic studies, “Underground”. Being always in contact with the musical tendencies of London and Detroit, the promoters of theelectronic music scene of Naples started organizing parties with the mostfamous Djs of the moment. On the 11th of May MarcoPiedimonte, alternated his dj sets between Old River and several After Parties organized every where in the region, with guests such as Derrik May at the Cube club. Between 1996 and 1997, when the progressive music evolved into techno music, Marco was resident Dj of the famous Dynamic Area club, performing with Charlic Hall, Ilana, Marc Sinclair,Basement Jaxx live, Justin Berkmann. In the winter of 1998 at Blackroses in Naples, Marco’s dj set opened the nights for the most famous Djs representative of the Neapolitan techno scene: Rino Cerrone, Marco Carola,Gaetek and Danilo Vigorito. On November in 1999 he performed with Kelly Hand and, the 31st of July, with Ben Sims. The special Marco’s Dj sets,with its peculiar vibrating sound full of refined sonorities and its irresistible groove, has always enriched the Parthenopean techno music scene and the biggest musical events in South of Italy:from Jeff Mills to Boy George, Speedy-J, Stanny Franssen, dj Rush, Dave Clarke, Secret Cinema, Mathew JonsonThe Advent, Chris Liebing, Adam Bayer, The Orb, John Acquaviva, Billy Nasty,Luke Slater, Umek In 2002 the need for creative growth drove Marco to frequent studios recording sessions so he started to create a new expressive course alternative to the Dj set. In the summer of the same year together with the well-known bassist and dub master Alessandro Aspide,Marco realized the “Detail” project, a “transversal” musical production. “Detail” is the out come of this creative and fruitful collaboration: the sound, surged with the groove and the live bass presence , is articulate and affected in both the essential structure ofminimal techno and the rich and refined techno house sonorities. “Detail” is a forth coming release for Loose records, a fresh prestigious Neapolitan label for experimental music. At the present Marco is an original Dj Producer, producing several outputs for its current Label,including :Overdrive Musik , Polluted Rec, Minisketh Vir, KPlay rec.....
