- “For a sound that straddles the cerebral and the forthright, hit up Pisces for your first point of reference” DJ Mag (June, 2015)Elijah Simmons, born Elias Simos, is an electronic music producer & DJ based in London, UK. He made his first dent on the electronic music universe as a producer, when Blond:ish picked up “Otavio’s Dream” for the first ever Flying Circus compilation in 2014. The track became an underground hit that summer, and a little less than a year later, his debut EP “Pisces” was championed by the German stalwart Kompakt (Kompakt Exklusiv). The EP was received with praise across the board, among DJs and publications alike, rightfully earning airtime on BBC1 – Phil Taggart’s and Solomun’s shows - and various radio stations the world over. His recent outing on KX with the track “Sil” was met with equal enthusiasm, capturing the imagination of audiences with a driving bassline and the kaleidoscopic textures the track is built around. While becoming a producer though came later down the line, DJing has been Elijah’s main craft for years. Explorations of house and techno tracks, woven together on a background of alternating soundscapes, moods and colours, with intermittent lush hints of world music, all bound together with an elegance rarely found among many of his better known peers. His talents soon landed him a residency with PIXI in Athens (GR), and slots in line-ups alongside Tale of Us, Mano le Tough, DJ Tennis, Chaim, Dauwd and many more, all across Europe and the Mediterranean basin.
