- herald of global underground technoSince 2012, Marco Gomez has held court in the American underground of electronic music as FALSE WITNESS, a moniker forged from a globally-minded understanding of club music. Alongside the #KUNQ artist collective, they pushed the boundaries of politics, social justice and nightlife and championed the original queer sound that underlined deconstructed club music emerging from New York City. As a resident of the fabled GHE20G0TH1K nights, False Witness pivoted their sound into the aggressive-meets-euphoric take on Techno that they are known for today. Growing into their own artistry alongside other major talents like LSDXOXO and Juliana Huxtable, FALSE WITNESS diverged from the standard dance music route in 2017 to pursue a Masters degree in contemporary art and sound performance. By the end of the decade, they were spearheading their own event series "In The Dark" at Bossa Nova Civic Club in Brooklyn, fueling demand for the up and coming artist to tour across Europe, Australia, and Asia. In 2019, their presence as a leftfield Techno producer was truly felt around the world with their first vinyl release, "Red Curtain Daybreak'' on E-Missions Recordings. Accolades from Mixmag, Groove Magazine, and other outlets poured in, praising the record’s abrasive, raw, no-holding-back approach. This period marked a major transition point upon their arrival to Berlin. From their performances at Herrensauna, Lab Dance at Berghain, Spielraum in Amsterdam, Bulto in Bogota and other major queer worldwide events came the birth of JUNIOR M. Combining classic NYC and Chicago House with Berlin’s embrace of Italo Disco and EBM, Junior M reflects Gomez’s ever expanding musical palette and skill as a producer and DJ. Junior M (the M stands for Machine) has since taken over as the main DJ and production moniker for the artist for 2024 and beyond. Although the Junior M title as a music production outfit stands firmly under the House genre umbrella, their DJ sets weave meticulously between various genres, displaying not just versatility but a true love for dance music. In addition to their own productions, they are also the official label manager of E-Missions Recordings, a boutique House & Techno music label founded in 2017 by artists P.Leone and Caiazzo in South Brooklyn & Queens, NY.
