Keep it raw. Keep it underground: play quality Music and play it on vinyl. This is the Fonos way of thinking. Federico Pedron & Stefano Zanin two buddies from Treviso, in Italy, met each other backstage at shows in the indie rock scene (Federico is a sound technician, and Stefano is a keyboard player). Once they had discovered the feeling for house music they have in common, the guys decided to take the first steps into club music production, forming the duo in 2008. Although taking it easy doing it just for fun and for the pleasure of it. Digging into house as much as they can, they are still working following this philosophy, because music is their first passion. Influences are what's in the starting grounds for each composer. Listening to a huge variety of musical styles such as jazz, rock, blues, funk, soul, hip hop, house and techno, Federico & Stefano grab inspiration from underground scene legends such as Kenny Dixon Jr., Theo Parrish, Rick Wilhite, Kerry Chandler, Chez Damier, Ron Trent, Larry Levan, J Dilla, Flying Lotus and lots, lots more. The result is a mix of House that is old and new school, emotional, trippy, that can be complex or simple but never trivial. Always warm, raw and phat, already appreciated and supported from a wide range of top DJ's from all directions and various styles, including Raresh, Danny Tenaglia, Groove Armada, Deetron, X-press 2, Slam, Matt John, Timo Maas, Joris Voorn, Luciano and Ben Sims. Listening to a Fonos DJ set you will ride on an always moving flow, built with quality house bricks, jumping from deep to funky and groovy classic sounds, never falling into banality. Fonos has released music on labels such as Do Easy, Percusa, Moonpool, Workbench and most recently Agaric's We Are, with whom they are still collaborating with for future comings. But rest assured, a whole lot more of their music will hit the record shelves in the next while. And then, if you want to understand more about Fonos, the best way is to take a minute and really listen to their sounds.
