- Drummer, Percussionist, Producer born in Sicily.He began his career as a drummer in 1988 with "Lavori in corso", a hard core punk group. In 1991 he joined the group "Down Tanz", new wave, playing on drums. In 1994 he was hired as a drummer by the "Famiglia Lentini", a progressive rock band (keyboards Dino Scuderi and bass Pippo Mafali). In 1997 he left for London, where he worked as a drummer with various artists, finding a strong interest in percussion. He explored African, Turkish and Indian musical models of the acoustic world of percussion. He became part of an acoustic duet formed by Sergio La Viola (Cellorythimcs ) on guitar, and Gilberto on percussion (djembe, darabuca, and tablas), playing at Apogee (Leicester Square) and various venues in London's West End.Meet Ernesto Tomasini, who introduces him as a percussionist in London clubs: he plays at the Kabaretclass of Soho. He plays live percussion with DJs (classic dj set) at HardRock Cafe, Baglis Studio London, Fiesta Havana with dj Victor and The Fridge London. In 2002 he returns to Messina and forms The Rift: Pippo Mafali basso, Andrea Bucca dj and gilberto percussioni. He participates in several recordings in the studio of Riccardo Wanderlingh, who introduces him to electronic music. In 2008/2010 The R&B band "Mo town" sees Gilberto on percussion and drum machine, Adolfo Crisafulli on guitar and Sandra De Domilici on vocals. He is part of the cover bands "Hasta la vista" and "Y Fernandez". With singer-songwriter Peppe Columbro he records an album. In 2011 he forms a music duo electronic acoustics, with Nello Amante guitarist and gilberto percussion and drum machine (Hand sonic 15 Roland, and korg kaos pad). In addition, in 2011/2012 he has a prestigious collaboration with two great international artists, Tony Esposito (percussionist of Pino Daniele) Joe Amoruso (Pino Daniele's keyboard player) playing in several concerts.
