- Gil K has been a made member of the notorious NYC underground for over a decade. A seasoned DJ, label owner, and event promoter, his story has come to embody the cultural renaissance of his city’s music scene. His critically acclaimed NOSI Music record..Gil K began his journey with an invitation to play at the island festival, SunJam, the most significant techno festival in Central America with an almost 20-year history. Establishing himself as a resident of the festival when he called Honduras home in 2005, he has continued to have a reciprocal influence on the scene by going back to play regularly, absorbing the flavor of the festival and the region. Upon returning to the United States, NOSI Music was born, spawning from the energy and excitement of Gil's travels and involvement with SunJam. NOSI was born with the mission to build relationships for the future, and to discover and foster new talent around the globe. Gil K and NOSI Music took hold in NYC around 2008 as Gil earned resident DJ tenure at both the Sullivan Room and the National Underground, two of the veritable roots of the underground dance music scene. NOSI gained further notoriety when Gil ascended to producing and promoting events to showcase the label’s family of artists. As NOSI Music closes in on its 10-year anniversary, Gil is once again pushing the boundaries of the movement by bringing his musical expertise to the burgeoning scene in southern Africa. Over the past two years, he has played festivals and clubs in Zimbabwe and become a stateside ambassador for the Cape Town Electronic Music Festival (CTEMF) in South Africa. Gil K has built worldwide connections and spread a wide net of influence across various continents. At this stage of the game, he is leveraging the multitude of relationships that he has built throughout the years in studio collaboration.
