- Grasps is an electronic artist exploring dark realms of deconstructed club soundscapes. Music for the faint of heart.Christian Whitwell aka Grasps is an electronic artist & producer based in Eora/Sydney, Australia. Their music attempts to show duality between emotional states. Melodic & ambient in parts, tearing through distortion and apocalyptic destruction elsewhere. Spaces between melancholia/harshness through combinations of distortion ripped through gentle, soft melodies. Grasps has previously released through Brainfeeder sub-label TAR & other adjacent net-labels (Parkingstone, Pneumatic), collaborated with local & international artists (Rico Nasty, BKTHARULA, Born In Flamez, WWWINGS) & performed at events accross Australia alongside artists such as Yung Lean, Bladee, Thaiboy Digital & Fatima al Qadiri. Previously involved in the regular running of events, radio & labels Sidechains (touring the late SOPHIE in 2017) & Club Eternal (hosting artists such as CORIN & TZECHAR), Grasps currently runs a long-standing radio show on Hong Kong Community Radio (Field of Dreams) showcasing a slew of local & international artists.
