Greg or GC has proven his worth in some of the biggest international clubbing venues in South Africa and the UK. His music tends to pull away from commercial trends and thus has a unique sound that draws you in, making you thirst for more. Greg’s passion for house music includes that of deep, tech and progressive, and even through to techno if the crowd and the set demands it. In South Africa GC has built up a reputation that is renowned for creativity, quality and forward thinking. From an early age Greg has always wanted to be a DJ. During the late 90’s he began DJing on a regular basis at some of Johannesburg top night clubs including that of Sublime, Picasso’s, Liquid Lounge and Carfax. GC also spent time working in studio under the name One Eyed Monkey, with then business and music partner, Jerah. It was here that GC began to hone his craft. One Eyed Monkey brought together a combination of funky and original tracks that caught the attention of some of South Africa’s most respected DJ’s. Their track “Mama Africa” featured on Club Y mixed by DJ Fresh and “Ndi Pendule” on Glen Lewis vs DJ Fresh / Gatecrasher vs Afrikha. These tracks catapulted GC into the local music scene. While Greg’s music career in South Africa was flourishing, he was determined to broaden the boundaries of his musical and professional experience. With this in mind, he moved to London in 2002. Knowing the difficulties that he would face in breaking into one of the most competitive industries in the world, GC followed his dream, took the risk and it paid off. Pure love and simple determination for his sound to be heard, GC made his way into some of the best clubs in London. He has played at SE1, Turnmills, Pacha and Ministry of Sound to name but a few. This dynamic DJ has also released his music on some prominent record labels such as Big Dawg Productions, Destined Records, Vendetta Records and Infinite Records. After 7 years working abroad in some of the most world-renowned music venues in London, GC felt the need for another challenge. With his heart still in his country of birth, he decided to move back to South Africa and expand his already considerable DJing repertoire by starting his own record label, One Nation Records. South Africa’s fast growing and exciting music scene facilitated this venture.
