- Caribbean born, Oakland raised.If idle hands do evil deeds, then Indy Nyles’s hands must be truly sanctified. From tickling the ivories to turning knobs, his hands have always been at work feeling their way between electronic and acoustic music. And his worldly sound is no surprise if you know where he’s been. Currently Indy resides in Detroit, but comes to the birthplace of techno by way of places rich with music culture, Oakland, Mexico City, and Trinidad. With stage experience including the Warped Tour, the iconic San Fran series known as Sunset Soundsystem, and his residency at Club Japan in Mexico City, Indy has a finely tuned dancefloor instinct. Equally adept as a studio artist and producer, Indy self-released his debut dual-vinyl “This Is Me” in 2019 and most recently contributed to Monty Luke’s Black Catalogue imprint in a compilation alongside King Britt. The name Indy Nyles represents a deep archive online for your digging pleasure, but this music is best served in real life from behind his stack of synthesizers.
