As they say…and then there was house...and with that comes Jakkin Rabbit fusing the old school with the new, exploding an eclectic yet classic sound worth bracing for. Collaborating spearhead music from from Danny Kane and Marc Spence, both Birmingham bred, Jakkin Rabbit hops a tune or two in the right direction possessing an enviable Hot Waves and Mexa signage with studio output for the masses. The Jakkin Rabbit duo draws in the fanatics carrying a musical profile that is melt worthy. Inspired by Kerri Chandler, Danny Kane claims a musical technique unique to very few as a multi-instrumentalist, having worked with music’s renowned Bobby Womack, Robert Owens and Chaka Khan. In partnership, Global Gathering resident Marc Spence relishes in shows alongside Funkagenda, Riva Starr and Kenny Dope. Reserving bill spots from the Hot Waves Tour at Sankeys, Pacha Ibiza, and a representation for Art Department’s Social Experiment at Sonar and Miami Music Week- Danny and Marc are right favorites keeping it real while well done. Alongside Solomun, Cajmere and Art Department it’s the industry leaders not only sharing a booth but also containing their support for the duo. After Blame on Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’s label Hot Waves consumed the Beatport Tech House Chart top 20 the music was moving, gaining much support from DJ Sneak, Pete Tong and Maceo Plex. In turn, the Zion EP from the guys professed a popular sting with fellow artists like John Digweed also raising their voices. Set for a 2013 anticipated album release storm with Jonny White of Art Department’s No.19 Music, Jakkin Rabbit combust the studio. Parallel to the prior remix success for Louie Fresco on No Hateration out on Mexa Records there is no doubt about the looming success with forthcoming projects for the pair. When Mixmag notably mentioned the duo as “ones to watch” they were confident and so they should be. Turning up the volume in a different way, the Rabbit just keeps jackin’.
