Biografía

  • Matt "Jeremiah" Smith DJ/Producer from Ireland. With releases on labels such as Baroque, Babylon, Flow Vinyl, Ambig, Frisky and Polytechnic recordings
After a break from producing I will be now concentrating on a more melodic style of music to include Trance and real progressive house not the crap that Beatport calls progressive these days. Matt Smith aka Jeremiah is a Dj/Producer from Kildare in Ireland. After many successes as a DJ the natural step was to start producing electronic music. Matt has worked with some very talented people who have helped him become an experienced producer with a wide skill set in the studio. It all kicked off in Jan 2008 winning the iDJ Magazine Raw Talent competition with a stunning mix that blew the judges away and then shortly after the release of Jeremiah’s "Surface of the Moon" on Ambig Records which is the digital label set up by Matt to release his own productions as well as some up and coming talent The track “Surface of the Moon” was remixed by Slovenian techno giant Umek and German new comer Alex Conners. The release exceeded all expectations such as radio play from Carl Cox and was a staple in many Dj boxes like Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo. It opened up many doors for Matt such as his project with Mathias Bradler of Mashtronic who needs no introduction with releases on every major from Bedrock to Global Underground. The project is called Bradler & Jeremiah and Bradler & Smith and has seen tracks signed to Baroque “Turmoil”Aug 2008 and Epsilon Trax “Darknes Before Light". Jeremiah also had a track featured on Pete Tong's Fastrax called "Raw Groove" which was signed to the Bedroom Bedlam label and is currently still in charts across the download websites. The next release on Ambig Records was Jeremiah’s "Treeman" with remixes from Brian Sanhaji and Reaky. It was a huge success for Matt seeing his profile increased further with the track being supported by DJ’s right across the House, Techno and Trance spectrum. The Reaky remix reached the NO.1 spot on the Trackitdown Techno charts. Matt also joined the Progressivehouse.com promo pool and regularly hosts their exclusive Progcast. Also his mixes have been regularly featured on top Irish radio station Spin FM. Already this past year Jeremiah has been signed to Baroque label group with his debut EP “Latino Funk” Jan 2009 being supported by DJ’s such as Armin Van Burren and was the essential track on radio show Shake hosted by Mental X on Swiss radio giant Virus radio. Next up on Baroque was "Slider" featured on the Baroque Solstice album followed by the fantastic "Miami Movement" an EP which comprised of 3 killer progressive tracks gaining support from Dj's such as Cid Inc, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Also coming in at the end of 2009 to cap off a fantastic year of releases was "Take What You Want" signed to Frisky Records again an essential track on Swiss radio with Mental X and Included on Frisky's massive Year002 compilation. On the remix front Matt has had the pleasure of remixing material from some of his Irish production friends including the massive "Micropig" by David DeVelera and on new up and coming Irish label Spacepig records Matt has remixed for label boss Brian Taaffe. So on to 2010 and its already looking to be a busy and exciting year for Jeremiah as he has signed 2 original tracks with Progressive house connoisseurs Polytechnic Recordings "Russian Roulette" & "Synergy". Both tracks full of energy and already gaining some good support. Also the much anticipated release of Jeremiah's "After the Storm Comes the Calm" which has certainly lived up to its name by having some journey before finally getting its release on Portuguese giant Flow Vinyl. The track was featured on John Digweed's transitions radio as well as Darin Epsilon's Perspectives and a host of support from top Dj's.
