Jerome Baker AKA DJ Jeremy entered the Denver music scene in the early 90's with a crowd pleasing blend of deep house music influenced by the Chicago & San Francisco sound. His diverse styles play to an equally diverse audience with the goal of bringing everyone together on a musical journey. Deep house, acid, disco, dub, funk, techno, breakbeats, leftfield and classic, all programmed together to keep the crowd moving. In 1996 Jerome teamed up with DJ Skunk to create the legendary Skunk Motel. Every Monday, Skunk Motel brought the freshest house music to Denver week after week, attracting an eclectic audience eager to let loose and dance the night away. Skunk Motel was Denver's longest running house night, with an 8-year reign that is still remembered as the Mile-High City's best club night. Contemporaneously, Jerome a resident with the influential Tribe Posse, was instrumental in laying the foundation to the Denver house movement. Tribe held underground gatherings focused on Peace-Love-Respect through music, and brought now legendary acts to Denver such as Dubtribe, Wicked, Doc Martin, Derrick Carter and many others. With others or one his own, Jerome always works to elevate awareness around the extraordinary music and great clubs in the Mile High City. Influential residencies include: Slick's Lounge (Chicago), Wicked (Soma), Humble Souls' Sunset Gatherings, Fab Fridays, Red Underground, MileHighHouse Tea Parties, and Tribe Posse's Strawberry Fields. Beyond Denver, Jerome's worked the crowds at top clubs including: The End Up (SF), The Top (SF), Smart Bar (Chicago), Slick's Lounge (Chicago), Budious Maximus (Tampa/St Pete), Phoenix Landing (Boston), Mixology (Maui). Jerome touts his best remembered gig as the Lovefest in 2001 (Bolivar Peninsula, TX), 20,000 people on the beach. “I have never experienced anything like it! A sea of people beyond the eye could see all vibin' dancing in unity, I have never felt energy like that before and could feel the connection through the music.” Most recently, Jerome has begun to spread his vibe through making music in the studio, joining forces with long time friend, music partner, and Spellbound visionary Ejay. Jerome and Spellbound family continue working together producing deep house music and forward thinking underground after-hours parties. The musical story continues to unfold, whether it is on the turntables or in the studio. Music over hype will always be Jeremy's message of love.
