Biografía

  • Founder of Underground Meco and resident Dj for Warm Up London.
    Hailing from Portugal, Jorge Martins was born in Lisbon and grew up in the Azores and Almada on the Atlantic coast, before starting his career as an electronic music producer in 2010. Soon after, Jorge moved to London, which he sees as one of the most influential cities in Europe for electronic music. Influences that can be heard in Jorge’s music are: Hans Zimmer, Max Cooper, Ryan Davis, Extrawelt, Vibrasphere, Rampa, Lee Burridge, Rui da Silva, Sébastien Léger Radiohead, Massive Attack, David Fonseca, Blasted Mechanism, Panpha Du Prince and David August. Always focussed on delivering the most forward-moving music available, he became resident DJ at Warm Up, London in 2014, a night created by DJ and promoter Aidan Doherty, defined as “…a techno and electronica night that has grown into a hugely respected project showcasing the very best in forward thinking artists. The reputation has not only been founded on superb artist bookings but on the consistent high standard of Warm Up’s resident DJs playing ground-breaking sets.” Since then, Jorge has built up an impressive CV, playing in London, Paris, Lisbon, Ovifat and Montreal, and warm up sets to main acts including Sasha, Guy J, Olaf Stutt, John Monkman, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Gidge, Ryan Davis, Parra for Cuva, Arjuna Schiks, Rodriguez Jr., Some Chemistry, Van Did, and Hubert Kirchner, as well as making appearances at festivals such as Gottwood, Farr, NoName, Suit, Goat Community, Boom and Noisily. Jorge plays beautiful music in the most beautiful possible way, creating positive energies through driving grooves which are supported by deep, warm melodies. He has proven consistent in showcasing a wide range of styles of Electronica and Techno on the London scene and his varied list of venues at which he has played include Crucifix Lane, XOYO, Electric Brixton, The Egg, Corsica Studios, Bloc, Studio 9294 The Steel Yard, Village Underground London, Satchi Gallery, Ministerium Lisbon, Harbourt Lisbon and Pérola Negra Porto.
