Biografía

  • Jürgen Peng is a Berlin based live act. His current project is completely improvised and leans on the sound of the 90s Techno and Trance era. Fast tempo, never ending bass drums and hypnotizing loops define his sound.
Still residing in Berlin, he has turned his complete act as a live artist upside down and presents his current set in 2023. It leans on the techno and trance era of the 90s and transports feelings like: Energetic, unglamorous, unpredictable, not for your in-laws. On the edge of chaos, haunting and repetitive patterns emerge that compel you to dance. Explosively, new themes appear out of nowhere and shift current reality to a completely new status quo. But this will certainly not last long. What lasts is the promise to be carried by the bassline, not to be washed off the dancefloor by the next thunderstorm. This also applies to the artist himself, to whom, thanks to small-scale randomization tools, it is not clear at any time what will happen next. Here it is necessary to decide quickly and to bring desired elements into shape while everything else disappears as quickly as possible. Jürgen Peng started producing house in 2013. At that time they were two, under a different name and with live vocals. In detail-loving work songs were produced and later performed. This happened in pretty much all Berlin clubs and at various festivals. Today it is only live improvisation. Over the last few years, the sound has developed more and more into techno. It is raw and fast. The bass drum should never stop and highly polished aesthetics and drops are intentionally avoided. Each set is unique. What remains is the energy level and the vibe. Best understood in dark basements, deep in the night, with a lot of fog in the room..and in the head.
