- Karl started of his journey as a Dj in 1996 after being offered a fill in slot on Kiss 105.3fm in 1998, he quickly went on to host 2 shows weekly on Kiss Fm for a year and a half before moving onto a new station which evolved when half the Dj’s from..Karl started of his journey as a Dj in 1996 after being offered a fill in slot on Kiss 105.3fm in 1998, he quickly went on to host 2 shows weekly on Kiss Fm for a year and a half before moving onto a new station which evolved when half the Dj’s from Kiss left to form the now legendary Nova 94.7fm were he stayed for 6 years before it shut down in June 2005. In 2001 he set up a specialist record shop in Temple Bar catering for all of Dublin’s top Dj’s called Future Sounds which he ran for 2 and a half years. It was the first shop in Ireland to host a top 5 dance chart on national radio 2FM called the Future Cut chart. After shutting up shop in 2003, Karl then got into production and joined forces with long time friend Tony Pugh. Having collaborated as DJs on many occasions it seemed only natural they would collaborate in making music. They went on to form Grooveboy which showcases there funky deep house side, then in late 2010 they formed Genetic Rhythm to showcase there more tech house / techno side. They have 5 releases out so far this year with another 6 coming out over the next 4 months, all of which are getting unbelievable feedback and support. After finishing with Nova 94.7fm in 2005 Karl took a break from radio only to return to set up his own station in 2007 which has become Dublin’s most respected underground electronic music station Play Fm Dublin (www.playfmdublin.com) Karl also co-owns a very successful label called Monad Music which recently had its 50th release coming from Italy’s finest purveyors of Techno, The Presslaboys (www.monadmusic.com) . Karl has held residencies at some of Dublin’s top clubs such as Club Mono, Switch, The Pod, The Crypt, Mischief, Traffic, Sunday Loungin @ Viva, Metro @ Sub Lounge, The Italian Factory, Alibi @ Ulysses and Dig Deep @ The Morgan.
