The driving force behind Australia’s largest and most highly regarded underground house music event – S.A.S.H, 2 decades of experience have brought Kerry to the highest echelons of Djing and promoting. Locally, gracing the stages of every festival, venue and party worth its salt across Australia, his chunky, deep and melodic tech house sound has seen him play alongside some of the world’s most recognisable artists. From Rainbow Serpent, Subsonic Music Festival to Future Music Festival (Cocoon Stage). hosting the likes of Sven Vath, Maya Jane Coles and Guy Gerber to Alex Niggemann, Alexkid, Dixon, Mihai Popoviciou, Sascha Dive, Andre Pushkarev and Enzo Siragusa on a weekly basis at S.A.S.H. His sound is immediately audible leaving revellers consistently moving irrelevant of the slot. S.A.S.H as an event in its half a decade has become an internationally recognised event synonymous with a quality soundtrack and an Australian staple. It has taken over two of Sydney’s house institutions, the open air courtyard of The Greenwood Hotel by day and the infamous monster that is HOME Nightclub overlooking the harbour by night. On a weekly basis it gives some two thousand odd party revellers another reason to dislike Monday and up to 4,000 on long weekends spread over 24 hours between the two venues – all the way to midday. Over this period, S.A.S.H has hosted a guest list which speaks for itself; Axel Boman, Bjorn Wilke, Bill Patrick, dOP, Heidi, Ian Pooley, INXEC, Jay Shepheard, jozif, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Nico Stojan, Marco Resmann, Robert Babicz, Ryan Elliot, Smallpeople, Terry Francis among a toilet paper roll length of others all alongside Australia’s most decorated talents. Abroad, Kerry has run successful events in London (‘Pulp Sessions’) and residencies Ibiza (EsVive and Itica) before settling and developing S.A.S.H in Sydney. Recently completing a tour of Brazil and about to embark on a stint in Europe comprising the likes of fabric (London), Cocobeach (Paris), Salon Wilde Renate (Berlin), Beach House (Ibiza), Baby Boa (Geneva) and Koh (Bali) under the S.A.S.H banner, his reach and brand are now escalating globally. None of this has come easy… From humble beginnings at the Chapel Bar in Islington (London), ‘Pulp Sessions’ in its first incarnation was born. The concept was simple; unearthing fresh dj talent and putting on quality events showcasing the latest electronic sounds in non-pretentious surrounds. Following the evolution, Pulp Sessions held residencies at two key landmarks in London’s underground, The Egg and the legendary Basement at Retox. Following this period, a small brand entitled ‘S.A.S.H’ was christened. It was not till later down the track the brand would make a comeback and do so in a MASSIVE way, in a completely different country. Following the pilgrimage route from island to island, Kerry called Ibiza home for some time, quickly establishing himself as a purveyor of underground house music, locking in residencies at EsVive and Itica rooftop. His ‘deep and bouncy’ stripped-down tech house gathered up crowds and began moving them to his groove along with a myriad of gigs around the Spanish island. It was not till 2011 that the ‘S.A.S.H’ brand reared its horse head again, in Sydney Australia of all places, and has only been growing exponentially over the last five years with Kerry Wallace at the helm.
