- With musical influences deeply rooted in his parents’ collection of jazz, soul and gospel; and with his grandfather being a jazz musician, Durban-born Leighton Moody’s natural progression to deep, soulful House sounds is easily understood...LEIGHTON MOODY (Soulsideup) Leighton, also known as "Soulsideup" is a Cape Town-based DJ and co-founder of the well-known ''We House Sundays'' movement. Respected among dancers and music lovers alike, Moody has a unique way of storytelling through his DJ sets. His love for fusing a variety of House Music textures and his ability to move dancefloors has seen him carve his own niche in the South African Deep House scene and abroad. Through his musical artistry, he subtly, yet powerfully, transports listeners through the various shades of House Music. With over two decades of experience in the music industry, his versatility as a DJ has seen him grace most of South Africa's top clubs and music festivals, including Ultra SA, Lighthouse Festival, Bazique Festival, Wolfkop Weekender, Cape Town Electronic Music Fest, Rocking the Daisies, Synergy, Oppikoppi, and more. Moody has shared the stage with the likes of Kerri Chandler, Monique Bingham, Dixon, Andy Compton, Jimpster, and Atjazz. He also featured live on Boiler Room x Ballantine's event playing back to back with DJ Cassiem Latief, showcasing their monthly "We House Sundays" event in Cape Town.
