After launching his own Tuff Wax imprint, a self-pressed 7″ debut in 2011 was followed by releases and remix work for the likes of Mad Decent, Owsla and Mishka NYC. 2013′s cinematic, synth-heavy EP ‘Only Built 4 Neon Nites’ cemented his position as one of the brightest faces amongst Brighton’s forward-thinking Donky Pitch crew. Alongside from shows across Europe and heavy radio play, Lockah recently made a well-timed move from his home town of Aberdeen to Donky’s base of operations down South. 2014 has already seen him receive XLR8R’s ‘Bubblin’ Up’ blessing, perform live on the Boiler Room and release his debut album and accompanying 12″ single to critical acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork, Resident Advisor and Dummy Magazine. Lockah’s DJ sets focus on bouncy Miami Bass anthems, bonus beats, electro breaks and a growing assortment of exclusive edits, cut up with the fun & flair that recalls the sound of classic Hip Hop mixtapes.
