Based in Berlin, he is co-founder and –manager of the Kassette label and founder and manager of Autist records as well as a passionate mastering engineer who has made his aesthetic mark on numerous productions. Raised in Berlin and formed by the burgeoning post-Wall techno culture of the mid-1990s, his early productions revealed the influences of the rough, industrial and dark sounding techno sound brought to Berlin by artists like Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier and Joey Beltram. Simple, radical sounding and functional: tracks like his "Tanzgenerator" or "Open the Watergate" shaped this aesthetic into a trademark His latest SUPERLOVER project makes a slight stylistic shift: instead of a reduced and purely functional sound characteristic of his releases under the moniker “M_Ferri,” Superlover presents a more emotional, energetic mix of warm Rhodes piano samples and string synths.
