Kaunas, Lithuania born and bred, now Chicago based DJ, producer and event planner, Mantas is a man in love with a sound that is in love with your body. Sonically wise beyond his years, Mantas pushes the boundaries of Chicago’s audio palette. His mixes tell a story of old and new with a blend of classic house, breaks, minimal and techno party jams. None of the sets are the same as he travels deep into his record collection to find uncovered gems that will blow the listener's mind each and every time he steps behind the decks. Fans from Chicago and beyond have flocked to hear Mantas in ever-rising numbers. And as those who have witnessed his marathon sessions know so well, it’s clear that the Stallion’s magic really works. Music lover from the early age, as acclaimed child singer turned into a hip hop enthusiast, Mantas spent most of his youth on stages or studios and is no stranger to the art of performance. Soon after moving to Chicago at the tender age of 17, he attended his first warehouse party. The rest is history. Starting slow and soon being a regular figure behind the decks at various venues across town for promoters like Volatl, MiM and NBFC, Mantas eventually landed a spot on Smartbar’s coveted Junior Resident Program, and soon after became a resident at Spybar as well as Paradigm Underground's offsite event locations. By playing with artists and spaces as diverse, our man has carefully honed his sound, tailoring his style to the event while still keeping things all his own. Mantas has had the pleasure to spread his taste in sound to the top crop of venues including the infamous Club Der Visionaere in Berlin, Lost Beach Club in Ecuador, Bogota Baum Club and Festival in Colombia, Output and Verboten in New York, TBA Brooklyn, Detroit's TV Lounge and Leland City Club. Most recently having played the inaugural edition of Trotamundo in Montanita, Ecuador, an ocean side festival that’s dedicated to the underground. Back in Chicago you would mostly catch him at his ongoing Tied residency, or moving behind the scenes spreading his musical knowledge. As the founding member of the renowned Chicago event brand, record label and music collective Tied, Mantas booked international artists and produced electronic music events across various venues in the Windy City and beyond, responsible for many of Midwest debuts in the process. Tied was voted “Best nomadic collective for weird, hard-hitting underground techno” by Chicago Reader in 2015.
