Marco Simioni

Biografía

  • Born in 1989, Marco was heavily influenced by the early-to-late 90s era of the UK electronic music scene (WipeOut 2097's OST is to blame here)
He started listening to and researching various genres and sonorities, making music at an early age just for fun. After a while, he started experimenting with different sounds and techniques, searching for his musical identity further into the years. Eventually, he decided to move to London in 2016 and started studying Music Technology at the London College of Music, where his musical background found a strong affinity. These foundations grew, and in the end, Marco released his first EP "Phaneron" on Detroit Underground in 2021: a set of 5 tracks working as an appetiser to Marco's musical vision, supported by Mexican visual prodigy Esstro9. The same year, Marco released an "Ambient" album which was found appealing by Yann Tiersen in person and British graphic artist John Coulthart, an album called "Zeitgeist: Ambient Music from 2012 to 2020" including music made in the last decade with his old friend Mattia Saviolo (a well-known and respected Techno producer/DJ in the Berlin scene) on the finest Frankfurt-based electronic music label Mille Plateaux. The album includes 3 tracks made in collaboration with Riccardo Marcucci, one of Marco's friends from University, with whom played in London's finest Corsica Studios, as well as Berlin's Arena Club (now closed, sadly). He then collaborated with Matteo Mazreku aka Aseq, with whom he founded an acid collective called "Qualia" (which is also the name of the first EP under this name) released on Utrecht's historic underground label U-TRAX. This EP saw the collaboration of another of Marco's friends, Francesco Pio Nitti aka Caramel Chameleon (a renowned name in the IDM/Acid scene), who wrote some 303 lines for the release and is now part of this collective. Recently, Marco took part in 030303's Various V, releasing a track under the "Raving Kid" moniker, "Edgware Acid", a name which explores acid and deep sonorities, as well as moods from the golden era of the UK rave scene in the 90s.
