- music maker / dj mother @eternaparasempre @discosparaisoWorking in Lisbon electronic music's most modern and enticing fringes since 2006, Maria Amor's has an active role in her hometown as a careful selector, DJ, vocalist and producer in genres like dubstep, club, uk funky, uk garage, hip hop and beyond. Maria started playing in bands as a teenager and later shifted her to focus to electronic music through her work with A.M.O.R. (alongside Violet), with Ervadoce (alongside Shcuro - with whom she also runs the label Paraíso) and Community Theather (with Chrissy). Her first solo EP, with the fittingly poetic title 'Her Roses Dance Louder Than Tears' was released on naivety and in it, bold, future-facing production goes hand in hand with melodic incantations - experimentation peeks at every corner, and even her own vocals flourish in both textural and lyrical ways. Maria's myriad influences timelessly transpire in her current practice which nevertheless remains highly personal, having the dance floor as the main habitat without ever leaving emotionality behind.
