Spending most of her childhood amongst various cultures and countries across the world surrounded by an open minded, incredibly gifted musical family, clearly shaped the inevitably eclectic, unique attitude and character in every element of Mariana’s sound today. Creativity and artistic exploration was limitless and a second nature for Mariana from an early age and took on many forms through various avenues from fashion design and creative writing to fine and performance arts, but one passion that never ceased to stand out, was music. Blessed with an incredibly inspiring, talented and strong, like-minded network of friends and artists in the UK where she spent her teens, Mariana’s desire and passion for making music was beginning to overwhelm all other dreams. With an immense determination to conquer her stage fright and take on a life of music by the horns, Mariana took a close friend’s passing suggestion to move on alone to another city, more seriously than anyone had expected, and with a lifetime of lyrics, not a clue what was to come, and nothing to lose, the twenty two year old took off to Bangkok city, Thailand. Today, the rising vocalist on the underground house scene looks back on her arrival in the land of smiles with a great amount of soul and appreciation. Having arrived never having had the inner peace to step onto the stage and do what she loved the most, the past (almost) eight years have blessed her with the most warm, inspiring people and opportunities which she holds close to her heart… …Today, with various releases and features, across countless genres between both live bands and DJ’s & Producers across the globe beneath her belt to kick start her career as a professional vocalist and songwriter, a nationwide tour, a number of major festival and concert appearances and international bookings and residencies, and the growing ability and passion to produce her own music, Mariana continues to strive simply for her soul to be heard and to make the world dance... Mariana has never stepped down from her promise of refusing to be categorized into any one ‘box’ or ‘genre’ as an artist, having grown up listening to almost everything under the moon, she takes great pleasure in knowing her sound is an amalgamation of all the inspiration she has gained from the sounds which surrounded her childhood and teenage years across the world. Although Mariana’s focus now is deeply in pure, house music, and the culture that surrounds it, her sound and writing is most often described as deep, soulful, funky, playful, blissfully melodic, and above all, incredibly unique. Mariana made her way back to the UK in 2014 to work as signed artist and partner with London based label & artist management group PRIMO ....and is now working independently recording vocals for house brands across the globe and working with her partner, K.A.Y (Beats&Pieces) under the name of 'KAMA' on their first original productions towards some serious moves on the scene to be made together in Summer 2016...̸*Paul Lomax / H.P.
