- Martin Denev is Bali based musician, producer, DJ and a music connoisseur. He's played hundreds of stages around the world and has released music on labels in Europe, Asia and America.Martin Denev is a Bulgarian born, Bali based musician, piano, and keyboard player, producer and a DJ with an affinity towards groove driven music. Growing up with classical piano education, he studied later Jazz in Rotterdam Conservatory (The Netherlands) and Berklee College Of Music (Boston, USA) and Latin and Afro Cuban music in Santiago de Cuba. Martin has played on hundreds festivals and forums around the world, including North Sea Jazz, Lowlands, Java Jazz, Soulnation, JVC Jazz, Caribbean Jazz Fest etc. and stages in Paris, Shanghai, Madrid, Ibiza, Seoul, Iceland, USA, Hong Kong, Canada, Beijing, Mexico, Berlin, Tokyo. Martin has shared the stage with some of the finest musicians and vocalists of our time - Sharlene Hector, Heidi Vogel, Vanessa Freeman, Tawiah, Colonel Red, Laura Jackson, Praful. He can be heard on tens of recordings - from Jazz to Hip-Hop, from Movie-Soundtrack to Dance, from Latin to Electronics. So far Martin released two solo albums - "Stolen Blessings" 2010 and "Bamness" 2012, both on Demajors IMI, as well as two EP's - "Ping Pong Geisha" 2014 with his project Audio Flirt and Martin Denev "Manga Electrika Vol.1" 2016, both on Imagenes Recordings, London. Tunes from his albums appear on compilations in UK, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Germany, China and Indonesia. In 2017, Martin released with Pete Herbert the "Night Shade" EP on Nang Records, London. Since 2011 Martin lives in Bali, Indonesia, where he is playing, producing, recording and DJ-ing in Bali's finest clubs. Martin holds a residency at KuDeTa and since 2014 he is a music director at Ayana and Rimba Resorts, with one of the most emblematic and popular places on the island - Rock Bar. Martin performs in various settings. From straight forward DJ set through combining it with live electronics and singers/musicians, to full scale 7 pieces live band. Whether on stage or in the studio, behind the DJ decks or the Grand piano, Martin moves seamlessly between styles and genres, bending boundaries and delivering a large spectrum of skills and colors reflected in his knowledge, taste, and experience. In April 2017 Martin released the single "Pass Me By" with Pete Herbert and legendary US House vocalist Robert Owens, with remixes by DJ Rocca/Danielle Baldelli and Dr.Packer.
