Marty McFly first hit the decks around six years ago while living in his hometown of Campbelltown in Sydney. After buying his first pair of turntables he developed his funk and broken beat edge on hiphop records. Inspired from the masters themselves on DMC videos, he began to experiment with various scratching techniques. Only a few years later he has become known in the scene as one of the cleanest cutters and scratchers there is. In recent years hes progressed to the faster tempo of nu skool breaks but his roots in funk and hip hop ooze through every set he plays. He relocated to Perth in 2004 and burst onto the scene after winning the inaugural "Punters Choice", a competition for up and coming DJs held at Perths Number One club, Ambar. Since then hes had regular club appearances at Funk Club, Beat Suite, JAPAN 4 & Break-A-Holics Anonymous. Marty has also had the opportunity to play alongside international acts and has supported the likes of Leeroy Thornhill (The Prodigy), Skool Of Thought, Elite Force, The Plump Djs, Friendly, General Midi, Rennie Pilgrem, The Freestylers & Dj Hyper As well as supporting internationals, he has played supporting sets with Australian talent such as Illya, James Taylor, Q45 & Kid Kenobi. He has also been given the chance to play at festivals like Major Break 3 & 4, Parklife 2006, Good Vibrations 2007 and the most anticipated event on any punters calendar, Breakfest in 2006. Marty McFly is quickly building a reputation for his unique ability to funk up a crowd and with those skills his productions are likely to make a mark on the scene in the future.
