Biografía
- Did you always think of living in the future? Electronic music takes me there.At the early age of 14 Mauricio de Sostoa developes a great affinity towards electronic music and all what is related with it.He grows up listening bands like Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Frontline Assembly, And One, Kraftwerk, etc... and, with 16 years old, he forms, with Carlos de Cusa, the agrupation called "Access Code". Having two tracks released in the 1993’s compilation "Spanish Gothic Bands Vol.2". After struggling with electronic music production Mauricio decides to jump to the decks in 1995. In the following years Mauricio plays around Barcelona and nearby cities, as in the frontier and south of France , his sets are played in RNE3 (Spanish National Radio) program Zona3 by Sonia Briz. During this time he combines djing with his work as videojockey in Barcelona’s collective Drewon, which he formed with David Parcerisa. As Vj he works in nearly all the clubs in Barcelona, such as Nitsa Club, Discotheque, Terrazza, Hype, Woman&Caballero, La Cova,Cyberian, etc... He also worked on the visuals for massive events such as Megaplec, Primavera Sound, Midi Festival,Videa, etc... In year 2000 he meets the costarican dj Leonardo Falfan (A.K.A. Tekes) with whom stablishes a great friendship and starts the project "Tekes & deSostoa", releasing in 2002 the LP "E-Soul". This partnership makes Mauricio take the decision of leaving Barcelona to go and live in Costa Rica. Now he is producing for the costarican label Half Seas Over, and forms part of their rooster. During the 13 years he has been living in Costa Rica, Mauricio has been djing all around the country, having played in Vertigo, 8vo Rooftop, Steinvorth, Rapsodia, Backdoor, D&N, Luz de Mono, Taboo, etc... And has enjoyed the residency in some beach clubs as Big Bazar,Rey Sol and El Garito, all located in Tamarindo Beach. In this years he also has played several times out of Costa Rica, Level Club (Panama City), Le Souk (NY City), Chapeau Rouge (Prague), etc… Actually Mauricio lives in Tamarindo Beach ,Costa Rica, focused in musical production and djing.
