Biografía

  • The inherent flexibility of Latin genres is one reason why Latin sounds continue to make such a rich contribution to the contemporary urban music soundscape.
Mickael Espinosa’s cultural backdrop was always going to play an important role in the development of his artistic being, and with a family background firmly rooted in traditional Dominican music, it’s no surprise that Latin rhythms and a natural affinity with the percussive elements of Latin-influenced dance music have become part of the heartbeat of his own unique musical style. Mickael’s early experimental efforts to blend Latin influences with more mainstream genres took place when he was working as a producer (and later as CEO) at Latin Dream Music, Switzerland. By this time he had already produced for various artists in Switzerland and the Dominican Republic. But now Mickael began to focus on the technique of mixing Tech-House, and Deep-Tech with Latin elements as the signature in his own songs. Using his own combinations of percussive samples and modern electronic sounds, the results inspired Mickael to continue exploring and developing this creative musical pathway. However, it’s the creative energy of talented innovators like Mickael which has become the essential component of a global force driving a diverse collection of Caribbean-influenced styles and hybrid genres to the forefront of mainstream music markets worldwide. Today, in an era when vibrant Latin influences dominate the airwaves as never before, Mickael Espinosa is an artist, producer, and CEO of the Studio 405 label.
