Biografía
- Whether its house, deep house, tech-house, or techno, you can usually find a little bit of everything hitting just right in a Monaco set.Even as a young boy, music was always a passion for Andres Monsalve, aka MONACO. Born in Medellin, Colombia, Andres moved to San Francisco with his family at the age of 6. Fortunately for Andres, MTV was one of the few channels that came in clearly on the cable box. Andres was immediately drawn to the electronic music of the 80’s & 90’s. At the age of 10, he started teaching himself how to play the piano after watching an Elton John music video on MTV. For the next 10 years, Andres would go on to play piano and keyboards in church. He played keyboards in a cover band before he started to DJ in 2008. Since then, he has played at some of the most popular clubs on the West Coast including Exchange LA, Sound, Sutra, Ruby Sky, Teddy’s, Drai’s Las Vegas, and Ghost Bar. Andres has also been featured at various lifestyle events and parties throughout the US. In 2018 will be played at the inaugural Utopian Summer Lifestyle music festival in Palm Springs, CA. In addition, MONACO is a 2019 resident of Apero House in Las Vegas and The Frenchie's Party. This summer, he will be closing out The Frenchies Stage at Pinknic Festival in New York City. Whether it’s classic house, deep house, tech-house, or techno, you can usually find a little bit of everything hitting just right in one MONACO’s sets. Today, Andres lives in Los Angeles.
