Biografía

  • Mordisco is a duo of djs and producers of electronic music from Granada (South of Spain).
Mordisco is the music project of the duo of producers and djs, Ángel and Hugo, representatives of contemporary electronic music in southern Spain. His approach blurs the lines between Techno, House or Disco providing a very free and personal vision to dance music. Psychedelic reminiscences, vibrant percussions, and hypnotic progressions characterize the eclectic sound of this duo. Thanks to the organization and curating of their Mordisco Club parties in their hometown Granada, they have been able to obtain an ideal expression channel since 2011 with which they show their particular vision of independent electronic music, and that is clearly represented in the guest artists who have gone through their parties and with those who have shared booth: Red Axes, Fort Romeau, John Talabot, Pional, Zombies in Miami, Marvin & Guy, Sascha Funke, Jenifer Cardini among many others ... Their residence at Mordisco Club is combined with his appearance in the most important Spanish clubs, having performed in cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, Ibiza, Valencia, Seville, Alicante, etc. In addition, they have also been part of the line up of some of the most popular summer festivals (Dreambeach or Low Festival), and have performances beyond Spain (Portugal, England or Latin America).

Their productions have been gaining international presence since 2012 began with their first remixes released on Spanish labels such as Warner Spain or Mushroom Pillow. This greater international projection has made them collaborate with artists such as the frenchman Jerry Bouthier, kingpin of the Continental Records label and partner of the famous Kitsuné label (France), or with Aimes as visible head of the New York Wonder Stories label. In both cases, the critics were excellent, both in Spanish media (Vicious Magazine or Siglo21 of Radio3) and international (Discobelle). ‘Trópico’ (2017) is one of their most remarkable singles, released on My Favorite Robot Records (Canada). It has become one of its most recognized tracks, currently being in the top 10 sales of the label itself, and having remained for weeks among the best sellers on the main digital platforms. Italian cult artist Alexander Robotnick has incorporated 'Trópico' several times in his sets and has recently been included in the Global Underground (ADAPT, vol.2) compilation with artists such as Red Axes, Marvin & Guy, The Hacker, Gui Boratto, among others. As for its publications in EP format, it should be noted the launch at the end of 2016 of ‘Isla Oculta’. With this Ep, Mordisco strengthens its commitment to a personal sound, reminiscent of house and techno, where they deepen more organic and emotional terrain. Tis release serves as a bridge for the launch of his Ep “Música de Baile” (2018) in the prestigious Manchester label “Paper Recordings”. One of its tracks, which receives the same name as the Ep, continues in the top 10 sales of Paper Recordings, and has been covered by different Spanish and international electronic music media. In 2019 they return to the label that has boosted them to the international scene, My Favorite Robot, where they release ‘Nocta’, a new Ep with two original tracks that features the remixes of Sascha Funke and Javi Redondo. Following, they publish their single ‘Zenit’ on Intercept Records, the new Atomnation sub-label, directed and curated by Applescal and Tunnelvisions. Both releases get a great reception. ‘Nocta’ is supported by artists such as Chloé, Curses, Perel, Damon Jee, Tim Sweeney and John Digweed while ‘Zenit’ is supported by Red Axes, Tiga, Nick Warren, Silicone Soul and Jeremy Olander among others. Currently they have new upcoming releases on international labels.
