Then he earned a degree as a sound engineer while playing sessions in Madrid´s late ´90 s underground club scene as “ Wavesound”, experimenting with Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Robert Hood, Sterac, Kenny Larkin and Surgeon techno sounds. While combining his sales manager day job duties at iconic Spanish Phrenetic specialized retailer, Wavesound steadily managed to breakout among experienced peers in his early twenties, entering the professional circuit and performing non stop in the hot Spanish techno clubs and festivals ( La Real, Octopus, Rxxistance, Industrial Copera, Fabrik, Zeus, Space of Sound, Arena, Metro Dance Club, Family Club, Techno-Flash, Universal, Phrenetic, etc ) In 2001 he started to write his own material proving to be a crucial turning point in his career , leading to a complete change in his perception and understanding of music. Two years later Gonzalo created his own record label, "Recycled Sound Records", releasing tracks as a solo artists as well as collaborations with Reeko, Exium, Grovskopa, takaaki itoh and many others. 2004 saw Mountage residency at Elektric club and One Club in Madrid combine with international gigs in European capitals and electronic festivals, soon followed by several releases for other labels. In 2006 Wavesound decided to explore new soundscapes and created his alter ego, “Mountage”, a funkiest character that allowed Gonzalo to freely enter a new musical universe.
