When he was seven, he took his first piano lessons and he really enjoyed playing. Seven years later, in 1996 he started to compose music. In 1998 he joined the band "Sarkastik", which was composed of Parshiwu and Mugurel Grasu.Nicalai stage name was Arsenik. The band went to several concerts for high-school students.During this time, Nicalai was falling in love with hip-hop music and he starts dj-ing. By 1999, he starts practicing among Dj Paul and Borac two good friends. He took part from several music projects like "The Supreme Lyric" with his good friend Gabriel Croitoru (Hiv) and "PCP" Genezah along with Science. Starting with the year 2000 he becomes one of the best Romanians Hip-Hop Djs. He joined the Band ra.c.l.a for eight months. Between 2002 and 2008 he joined the band b.u.g mafia ad had the stage name Dj Swamp.He also collaborates with musicians like Grasu xxl, Guess Who, Skizzo Skillz, Maximilian,Nane,Veritasaga and many others.Since the end of the 2008 Dj Swamp becomes Nicalai. In 2009 he starts his own music studio,which is Galaxiu Studio and he produces his first LP, A.E.R(This is Romania) on his birthday. In 2010 Nicalai is focused more on producing and starts collaborating with big names from the romanian music industry. In August 2010 Nicalai released "Supermegaimportant" EP with a new Download Pack containing A.E.R LP and Supermegaimportant EP + several bonus tracks at the launch of his new Official Website Nicalai.com . In september he announced that he's working on his second studio album called "DISKO!". On his birthday, September 23rd, Nicalai released the first single called "D.S.A. For Nicalai, 2011 was a year of evolution in terms of musical style. The first major release in January was the song "Me & You", the first product of the duo's "Storm Love" formed by Nicalaiu and Gabriel Slick. In the months that followed, the artist has managed to produce remixes for major Romanian music industry names such as ROA or Andra. Also thanks to the success of the "Storm Love" project, he started working with the online label "Purple Sun Records", sub-label to Crossworld Records. Because of this, Nicalaiu began working with artists such as Denny The Punk (U.S.) or Stanny Abram (SLO). In the spring of 2011, the artist lays the foundation of the new project / duo "Les Garcons Timides" with Alexander Angyus. The first products are two very interesting remixes for "Justice - Civilization" and "Donna Summer - I Feel Love". Also the two producers launched an EP called "Stardom" that manages to capture the attention of listeners immediately. By the end of the year 2011, Nicalai released one by one, three EPs chronologically titled "Bucharest EP", "Jungle EP Power" and "I'm Jack EP", which helps the artist to gain increasingly more awareness among electronic music fans worldwide.̸For Nicalai, 2011 was a year of evolution in terms of musical style.
