Biografía

  • 20 years behind the decks & a fast growing reputation behind the desk.
Nifty's DJ'ing career started through his passion of music. He would mix his favourite records together for himself & for friends, way back at the beginning of the 90's. By chance, a promoter got hold of one of these tapes & liked it so much he gave him his first gig. Needless to say he didnt disappoint! This lead to many more bookings from various promoters of ‘raves’ in & around the South West. To fuel his aural addiction he was recruited at a local record store & amassed a huge record collection & industry knowledge. During the late 90s as clubs came back "en vogue" he gained residencies at various clubs including, the then legendary, Lakota, playing alongside all the usual big names from Carl Cox and Laurent Garnier to Danny Rampling & Sasha. Along with some close friends, he also ran one of Bristol's longest running techno nights, "Homegrown", which was voted ‘Best Techno night’ in the South West by Mixmag magazine. His ability to whip the dance floor into a frenzy didn't go unnoticed & he then got plenty of gigs playing further a field from France to Croatia & the obligatory Ibiza slots. As with all music lovers he wanted to do more than just play other peoples records, so the obvious next step was to begin producing his own tracks. After a few early experimental releases under different guises, he had an opportunity to do a remix for Hope Recordings which gained international support from the likes of Herman Cattano, Hybrid & Nick Warren amongst others. His production skills were also enlisted by Deepgroove which resulted in releases on record labels Harthouse & Four:Twenty recordings. With various projects & remixes in the pipeline, collaborating with various artists of varying genres, you can be sure that you will hear the name Nifty increasingly on the scene.
