- Deep House DJ/Producer from Cumbria, UK.Originally from Cumbria in the UK, Lee Sandwith, aka Nohijo, developed an obsession with electronic music over 20 years ago after being introduced to acid house. At that time, almost every weekend would be spent on the road, travelling the length and breadth of the UK in search of escapism and adventure through the solace of dark and dirty underground house parties. After several years mis-spending his youth in house music establishments, listening to other people DJ just wasn’t enough and he decided to invest in a pair of Technics 1210’s and learn how to DJ himself. Shortly after he up-routed and made the move to the place he now considers home, Newcastle upon Tyne, where he started to develop his Dj’ing style playing house parties, bars and clubs across the UK’s Northern hemisphere. Curious by nature, Lee started to take interest in electronic music at a more granular level – the music makers themselves, the equipment, the drum machines, gadgets and above all synthesisers & synthesis. As such, Lee decided to turn his hand to production and bought an Amiga 1200 and the primitive but powerful music production software, Octamed. After upgrading to PC and Cubase, Lee released several tracks on vinyl before taking a break from production and embarking on a world tour where he offered up his DJ’ing skills in some of the more obscure corners of the globe. After much soul searching, Lee is taking his music career much more seriously and has returned to reality with more focus, drive and commitment than ever before.
