- Odopt is the duo of producer/composer Ivan Maslov, now based in Buenos Aires, and Gregory, a DJ with a 20-year-long career behind the decks, who recently moved to Paris, France.Odopt is the duo of producer/composer Ivan Maslov, now based in Buenos Aires, and Gregory, a DJ with a 20-year-long career behind the decks, who recently moved to Paris, France. While they were both touring together with a live show during the pre-COVID times, now it's just Gregory's long psychedelic DJ sets that represent the duo in public. These sets all consist of their fresh productions, secret edits, and unreleased material, that boys have been constantly making without any pause for 10 years. Since the year 2015, they've been responsible for some serious, sinewy heaters on labels like Hivern Discs, Born Free, Malka Tuti, 777 Records, and Discos Capablanca. That should give you some idea of the kind of sonic sphere they operate in - a rugged hardware house with a wavey bite and a playful instinct. They once defined their music as “peak time bangers with a twist”, and it’s easy to grasp why. Their tracks have the kind of eccentric propulsive energy that can send any dancefloor into a frenzy, but the way they build them couldn’t be further than the usual big room schematics. In their universe, the sounds are strange, the samples obscure and the structures unexpected. Risky music made to be felt, not thought. EBM if the E stood for experimental. Weird and obsessive, but in a liberating way. Music that speaks of a space and vice-versa. Take my hand. Let's walk.
