- it is that simple: "music makes u happy" ! you know the saying "dance like nobody is watching" ? transfer this to DJing and you could end up with something like "play like there is no tomorrow" - an obsessive way of spinning records. this is exactly..it is that simple: "music makes u happy" ! you know the saying "dance like nobody is watching" ? transfer this to DJing and you could end up with something like "play like there is no tomorrow" - an obsessive way of spinning records. this is exactly how you could describe the way paintastic plays. paintastic is not an entertainer or show-dj, but one of the few true artist dj’s left, someone for whom the music is still all that matters. paintastic grews up with electronic music. he starts his dj-career in 1988 at the tender age of 15, playing at school or small private parties in his hometown in the south of germany. he played anything from new wave, hi nrg to ebm till he discovered acid, house and techno music in the earlie 90’s. fascinated by the sound there is no stopping him. around the same time he started organizing techno parties in and around the city of nürnberg with his friends and developed into an inherent part of the city's scene. paintastic loves music, in his sets he mixes the best of over 20 years of electronic music in a way that few dj’s can, effortlessly switching between the cutting edge of today’s sounds and vintage chicago house, detroit, italo, wave, acidtrance and electro. in doing so, his sound doesn't remain trivial but finds its deepness in the pretence of himself as a dj. the art of DJing insists in the complexity of the set, that slowly and inconspicuously increases through the set-up and arrangement of records and keeps audience on tenterhooks until the end. paintastic is a true music freak, an avid sound collector and really does play if every night is his last. after being resident in nuernbergs famous cult club for years, he 2007 gained residency at the legendary kittycatclub in munich.̸Pimp!
