Biografía
- Panooc's dark and funky to left field house style blends (and everything in between) honors the past whilst looking adventurously to future dance floors.Originally a jazz saxophonist and forever influenced by electronic music in all its forms, Trans DJ/Producer/Instrumentalist Panooc (They/Them), jumped into the NYC House & Techno music scene in 2011, producing and releasing tracks on legendary labels such as King Street Sounds and Ultra Music/Sony before cultivating a name for themselves locally and internationally as an accomplished DJ, radio host, LGBTQ collective and community member of XOXA NYC & Scotland-based Disco/House-centric collective Edinburgh Disco Lovers. Hailing from a small rural village in Scotland, Panooc spent their formative years in Boston and NYC (USA), working and performing alongside artists such as Bootsy Collins, Fred Wesley, Todd Edwards, Danny Tenaglia, Midland, Lauren Flax, Michelle Manetti, Jaye Ward, Lezzer Quest and performing at some of NYC’s top nightlife institutions: Elsewhere, House of Yes, Black Flamingo, Good Room and more. They continue to tour regularly, playing at internationally recognised queer events such as London’s Adonis, Glasgow’s Shoot Your Shot, Madrid’s Others To The Front and XOXA’s own NYC events, as well as acclaimed venues such as Tresor, Sisyphos, Suicide Club (Berlin), Musicbox (Lisbon), Sirloco (Madrid) & Dalston Superstore, The Cause, Rye Wax (London) to name a few. Panooc’s music releases can be found far and wide internationally, most recently on Brooklyn-based label Fortune Signal, LA’s Dome of Doom, Logic 1000’s Mixmag Cover Mix EP and queer-centred labels such as Super Drama Records, Queer House Party and Delusional Records. When it comes to musical chops, Panooc is second to none, and you can hear it in every track they produce and every DJ mix they perform.
