  • Professor X is a Kenyan based electronic dj. His sound can be described as a fusion of soulful elements that provoke thought and keep you in a particular mood with the use of smooth vocal, exciting melodies and groovy bass lines. He is able to do this..
Growing up to the tune of jazz music from the likes of Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Hugh Masekela Professor X was drawn to the allure of jazz and its mellow melodies and was fascinated by rich baritone sound of the tenor saxophone, and is hence formally in the tenor sax. This led to his deep house exploration where he got exposure to Deep house producers like At Jazz, Glen Lewis, Danny J Lewis and Larry Heard. He began Djing late 2011 as he further explored the world of trance and quickly grew fond of the trance 2.0 variant that featured groovy baselines and sensational vocals. He began with a radio show at his university called electronic sessions where he met with a fellow host who shared a similar interest in electronic music, the show was called electronic sessions. It was at that time he also met fellow trance enthusiasts in Nairobi and it was at that time that BPM Kenya was born. 2012 saw him playing for all BPM Kenya gigs as well as guest mixes for other shows including HOT 96 FM, Homeboys Radio as well as a guest mix on Capital FM as well as the deck magazine show in Pretoria, South Africa. In 2013 he officially began to host Electronic Sessions on space radio (www.spaceradio.fm) that airs every fortnight of the month on a Wednesday at 16:00 to 17:00 (GMT +3) this also presented the opportunity to launch his podcast for anybody who missed the live stream on space radio which are hosted on mixcloud as well as iTunes.
