Remute

Biografía

  • Remute is technoptimistic.
Remute managed what only a handful of musicians manage: After over a decade-long career wih over 300 single releases and remixes on some of the most prolific electronic music labels like Tresor, Bedrock or Ladomat2000, 9 albums and countless live- and DJ-gigs from New York, to Moscow, to Tokyo, the Hamburg-based artist reinvented himself and turned into a 'music programmer' with the release of his 2019 album Technoptimistic. By releasing this album onto a Sega gamecartridge he blurred the edges between a music album and a videogame blissfully uniting gamers and music fans. Technoptimistic is the first ever commercially released techno album on this unusual format and a massive worldwide success with raving reviews by The Verge, Famitsu, Techmoan, Eurogamer, Gizmodo and Mixmag amongst others, sales surpassing all expectations and even being featured in videogame and computer museums all around the globe. So, what's next for an artist that seems to had it all? An artist who compressed music onto floppy disks (on his 2017 album Limited), experimented with catchy J-Pop (on his 2016 album Play The Game co-produced with major japanese record company AVEX) and started his own label in 2008 with the genre-defying minimal techno classic tune Zuendli?! Probably something even more technoptimistic and probably even another reinvention as the 10th Remute album will see the light in 2020 and initiate a series of live-events blurring the edges between music and gaming culture too. Are you ready for this? If not, then go out, take some pills and listen to mediocre tech house. If yes... OK... then get ready for the next level and let Remute reprogram your mind and all your listening habits!
