History:
Starting out in the club scene in 1998 as a promoter at San Francisco’s club X, the main reason
why Rooz became dj was so that he could play the music that he wanted to hear at his own
events. “I knew exactly what the club heads wanted to hear, what made them move and what
made them jump”. Rooz believed that this way he wouldn't have to try so hard to find the right dj
that could produce the right vibe. In 1999 Rooz and Misha Vladimirsky partnered up to and
started Paradox Entertainment. Paradox's success lead to three new events and Rooz now had
four residencies: Detour @ the LimeLite, a rockin Tuesday night event that drew a crowd of
1000 clubbers every night, Glow Sunday nights @ the LimeLite in MV. And the Infamous
Friday night monthly underground party Re-Cycle @ Space 550 in SF, where thousands
gathered to hear some of worlds most famous dj’s like Armand Van Heldon, Keoki, Donald
Glaude and Hippe & Halo perform. By 2003 Rooz took his underground style of progressive &
tech house to another level and had played at almost all SF night clubs. At that time he had
residencies at “Loud” Saturday nights @ Ruby Skye and Headlining in the house room at
Spundae’s world famous weekly Friday event “Sonic” @ 1015 Folsom. After the the End of
Paradox, Rooz joined forces with the world famous promoters, Spundae. Taking SF by storm
Spundae continued to flourish as SF's number 1 nightclub experience. With his new home Rooz
continued to throw events and rock crowds of over a thousand playing at events with some of
worlds most famous dj’s and producers like Sasha, Tiesto, Seb Fontaine, Steve Lawler, BT,
Ferry Corsten, Derrick Carter, Nick Warren, Max Graham, and more…
In 2003, Rooz’s unique style of mixing deep celestial progressive with tribal/tech and “Nu
Skool” breaks always brings fresh new sounds to music lovers all over the world. His sets are
unique and the experience is memorable. Today Rooz has partnered up with Back2Basics-sf
Founder to create "R-Squared", at tag team collaboration of retro-prog and funky tribal. With his
newest success the first ongoing electro house party in SF "Retro-Drum" with SF's only ongoing
electro tech house party @ Anu. With new residency at Bambuddha Lounge and frequent visits
to Mezzanine and 1015.
Being a part of Spundae from 2002 to 2006, Rooz got spin with DJ's such as Sasha, Tiesto, Nick
Warren, Seb Fontaine, BT and more. He helped Spundae make a big statement in San Francisco
in 2005 and helped them win the "Best US Club" award at the International Dance Music
Awards (IDMA) at WMC in 2005.
In 2007 Rooz has started his residency at San Francisco's most popular and trendiest club,
supperclub. Playing the openning set for the likes of Derrick May, John Acquaviva, Seb
Fontaine, Tiga and Derrick Carter. In SF Rooz is known best for rocking afterhours warehouse
events with his 5am sets. You can still catch Rooz rocking his big room sound at his 1015
mainroom monthly residency.
