RTIK is an Italian producer based in Modena, Italy, who uniquely blends melodic techno with downtempo, ambient and experimental elements, making it hard to fit his sound into a specific genre and style.
Italian born and based artist Carlo Raiteri, a.k.a. RTIK, has been perfecting his craft while
experimenting with a variety of different genres over the years, slowly finding his own unique
sonic palette combining downtempo electronic and ambient soundscapes with more club driven
tempos.
While it’s hard to fit his sound into a specific genre and style, the Italian producer has released
over the years on a number of respected indie labels such as Insight Music, Chinchilla (Artist
Union), Inner Ocean Records, The Games We Play, receiving great support from tastemakers,
blogs and curators.
“ (..) a sense of hope, a light at the end of the tunnel, a typical mark of RTIK’s music which creates
a unique juxtaposition of layers of sound.” - The Groove Cartel
After his EP “Decoy World” released in 2019 (his biggest body of work to date), which marked a
defining stepping stone for RTIK’s vision, the Italian producer pushed his sound forward with a few club driven tracks, “Dissolve” and “Endless Winter”, showcasing his versatility while still
staying true to his core mix of downtempo electronic, ambient, and melodic techno vibes. Not to
forget his piano day contribution with neo-classical composer Luca Longobardi, a collaboration
which gave birth to the mesmerizing “In(finito)”.
“This impeccable piece of electronic music embodies the ideal mix of techno and ambient (more
correctly space ambient) into one compact, solid and confident entity.” - Last Day Deaf
This preamble into club music served as a precedent for what is in store for 2021, with a first
strong release on Running Clouds with “Great Beyond” which was supported by Paraleven
on the Rüfüs Du Sol - Rose Ave Radio aired on SiriusXM Chill radio. Paraleven also
supported an unreleased track on the Retrograde Mixtape.
“You’d need a heart of stone not to be captivated by the evolving sounds and beats. One for the club and home listening” - acid ted
To demonstrate his commitment to maintaining a diverse sonic palette, earlier this year RTIK
shared a couple of very personal and introspective pieces of music. The first written during the
lockdown, the soothing ambient composition, “the sun never seems to shine” which was picked
up by one of the most influential radio personalities and DJs in Italy Alessio Bertallot who played
the tune on one of his radio shows. He also released a collaboration with classical pianist and
composer Gianluca Piacenza for Piano Day 2021 titled “Liquid Thoughts” which received great
traction and was featured in the official Piano Day playlist on Soundcloud.
RTIK also composes original music for synch purposes such as product presentations. One of
his biggest achievements is the feature as main composer alongside Teho Teardo (one of the
most renowned Italian film composers) in the documentary “Tintoretto, l'artista che uccise la
pittura”. The full length documentary received honorable mentions at the Italian Film Fest and
will be released in 2021 at selected movie theaters in Italy and Europe.
Stay tuned for a 2021 filled with new music from the Italian talent who promises to keep
surprising the listeners with each new body of work.
