Founded in 1997 this formation researched the mesmerizing sound of BASIC CHANNEL - the famous Dubhouse. Fascinated of the warmth and deepness of this particular sound and the technoid character of this tracks, Salz began to create their own interpretations and building up their own specific sound. The music was first released exclusively on the own Label called "Salz" and after the 2nd EP the decision was done, to bring out the sound on live stages. Salz has gone on tour and performed since 1999 in clubs like EGO BAR, Duesseldorf; ARTHEATER, Cologne; AREA51, Zurich; TRESOR, Berlin; PANORAMABAR, Berlin; DOUALA, Ravensburg; ALTER SCHLACHTHOF, Dresden; CLUB BOGALOO, Pfarrkirchen; CAVE CLUB, Salzburg; De:Bug Party, Hamburg.... After the 4th Release "Quattro" the Climax of their technoid dubhouse was reached and the band was looking for a more popaffine sound. Supported by artists and friends like RAZOOF, SOLAR MOON, RUBBASOL they developed a more reggealized style. One of the landmarks here was the cooperation with the pop legend THOMAS DOLBY for the remix of ONE OF OUR SUBMARINES, for that they also won HARDFLOOR, RICARDO VILLALOBOS and AKUFEN as remixers. Until that moment, they only released own productions on the Salz Label. From now on, they released also RAZOOF, TURQUOISE, THOMAS DOLBY and PANAMAFORMAT. Besides the regular productions, Salz was known as remix crew for: PHILLIPE CAM - Western and Caddies Day on TRAUM SCHALLPLATTEN; ALEXANDER ROBOTNIK - UhUh; MARTHA AND THE MUFFINS - Echobeach; CAROL DOUGLAS - Kung Fu Fighting; UNKNOWN CASES - Masimba Bele, WALTER DAHN & DIE HORNNISSEN; JEN & THE MELLOWDRAMAS; COSMIC SANDWICH ... In 2004 the band took a timeout and quitted the Label for a while. Emanuel Geller runs his own Mastering Studio "SALZMASTERING" and produces Tracks with RAZOOF, RILEY REINHOLD aka TRIPLE R and TURQUOISE. Axel Erbstoesser produces tracks for the cologne lounge and house combo floorJIVERS and also tours live with them. Axel also tours for some special gigs as "SALZ REVIVAL BAND" for hardcore fans. Since 2 years the studiowork begins to be more and more active and intense, whilest remixes of SALZ are still requested and they like to overdub the productions they get. Like the recent remixes of the Dub Legends DC RUTS or for M-FACTOR "POP MUZIQ" or for the TRAPEZ 100 Release a Track of FIVE GREEN CIRCLES.
