Samuel Knob

Biografía

  • With great respect and admiration for music and technology, Samuel has always been in constant contact with these two scopes from an early age.
At the age of 16 he decided, together with some friends, to form a rock-pop band, playing as the drummer at many 'diverse places', from bars and pubs and university events to small festivals organized by the near capital and towns. Step by step his love of beat music was beginning to get him more and more into the electronic side of things, when finally, the habit of drumsticks was changed into cross-faders and knobs. Citing amongst many others his first and early influences as Pan-Pot, Damián Schwartz, Magda, Pheek, Louderbach, Barem, Sweet N Candy, Richie Hawtin, Alex Under, Marc Houle, JPLS and Plastikman, Samuel began experimenting with ideas of minimal techno. These influences coupled along with his DJing interest led Samuel to start to play out properly at venues in 2005, although thanks to a university grant, he took up fantastic opportunity to move to Germany the same year and this is where he truly began to immerse himself in the music. Upon moving back from Germany to Valencia, Samuel became and still is a key resident of Barraca Club in Valencia. After releasing his first full works of production on the 'Glückskind Schallplatten' label in May 2009 with his 'Logico Disparate' EP. He has since released on Viva Music and with forthcoming releases on Trapez (with Edu Imbernon) and Barraca Music, Samuel is definitely one to keep an keen eye on.
