Scoom Legacy

Biografía

  • Scoom Legacy is a mix of Deep House, Techno, Breaks and Progressive House.
Scoom Legacy's music is destined for journeys: journeys to wherever you may want to go — by car, by train, by spaceship, or to any fantastical environment you can dream up without going to a club or leaving your room. His personal vision of techno, as warm and expansive as it is pulsating, provokes an instantaneous and intimate connection with the audience. It is music that exudes love, passion, positivity, innovation and unity and this can be felt both live and in his studio recordings. Behind the Scoom Legacy project we find Josep Corominas, an experienced producer whose work is divided across all possible fields of communication: as a craftsman in the recording studio, as a master remixer, in front of a crowd, and also in the academic world. A professional DJ since 1998, Corominas began producing his own music in the year 2000. His influences are painted by an assorted palette of sounds — from avant-garde techno to the deepest house, and a wide assortment of broken beats taken from jazz, the English breakbeat scene and UK Garage. He quickly began to share his talent with vocalists, collaborators and audiovisual directors. His work has been released on labels such as Knee Deep in Sound, Solar Distance, Natura Sonoris, SINCOPAT and Wow! Recordings, among many others. His portfolio boasts soundtracks, club pieces and explorations of the fringe where dance music and ambient meet. In 2016, Corominas decided to unify all of his plans and projects under a single artistic name: Scoom Legacy. Under this name he released a wide range of studio material and remixed artists of international stature such as Henry Saiz and Ramiro López. His first album, Slow, was released by Solar Distance, the label of producer UNER. It is an aesthetic manifesto where all of his interests intermingle: techno and melodies, house music and emotions, broken rhythms and atmospheres that transport you to the unexplored corners of space. Scoom Legacy is proud to cite his main influences and the names of the artists he admires: his personal pantheon is formed by producers such as Rodriguez Jr, Youandewan, Dusky, Apparat, Hot Since 82, Disclosure, Shur-I-Kan, Leon Vynehall and Detroit Swindle. After the release of Slow, his following releases were the maxi-single Flow/Escape on Knee Deep In Sound, Hot Since 82's label, and the launch of Terranova Records alongside Axel Valley, with the single Genesis. He released Voices on Annuna Music, featuring a remix by Enai, and plans to release several EPs throughout 2021. This will be a key year in his personal evolution, promising to reach new levels of connection and depth in his musical language. 2021 is also the year that he will premiere his new live set — a collection of his best tracks and unreleased pieces that will distill the purest essence of Scoom Legacy. In addition to all this, Josep Corominas is an integral member of the artistic collective INTERMEZZO, where he experiments with binaural sounds and creates music focused on soundtracks and audiovisual application, alongside 11 other international artists. The fruit of this collaboration came in January 2021, with the release of their first album, Hope. In his teaching practice and educational pursuits, Corominas is one of the pillars of the advanced music production school EUMES, where he has been a partner since 2012. Not only is he the frontman, he is their admissions director, a content creator, and most importantly, teacher and mentor to a large group of students from all over the world to whom he reveals the secrets to composing electronic music.
