Scott D'Souza is no stranger to the world of entertainment. Absorbed in house music since the late 80's, this talented DJ has amassed over 20 years experience spent passionately promoting his individual style, resulting in the development of his own unique sound that packs a punch on any dancefloor. With a mantra of 'less attitude, more focus', his take on various genres of dance music and his ability to seamlessly blend together sets that are breathtakingly diverse truly showcases his technical abilities and programming skills. Relentless in his commitment to excellence behind the turntables, he is a true performer and a DJ that really CAN tap into his audience's senses. Whilst he has been heavily influenced by such a diverse range of house music, taking in everything from deep, progressive and electro-tech house and acid infused breakbeat, through to vocal, disco-influenced tracks and old skool, he also has an enviable collection of music covering RARE GROOVE, FUNK, ATLANTIC SOUL, MOTOWN, 70’s DISCO, ACID JAZZ, HIP HOP, EARLY ELECTRO, BREAKBEAT, LOUNGE and BALEARIC HOUSE, DUB, REGGAE, SKA, PUNK, INDIE, NEW ROMANTIC and 80’s POP. Prior to becoming a DJ, he was the drummer in Phobia, a signed and successful band in the late 80's that supported The Manic Street Preachers, Nirvana, The Cult and Mega City Four to name but a few. The band were championed at the time by the late, great John Peel on Radio 1 and released 3 EP's and 2 albums over a 3 year period. He sold his 9-piece drum kit after the band split and began his DJ'ing career in the early 1990's, spinning his beloved house music at parties up and down the country and wherever he was offered a play. His talent and commitment brought about a residency in 1995 at Leicester's Safe House, home to a 2,500 capacity crowd that played host to some of the industries' biggest names at the time. A fortnightly residency in 1996 at Coventry's largest venue, Planet, sparked a string of warm-ups, most notably for Sasha and John Digweed on the first Northern Exposure tour, Carl Cox, Dave Clark and Billy Nasty. During that time, he also guest DJ'ed at Up Yer Ronson, a selection of Mixmag and Cream university tours and has also played alongside the likes of Mark Ronson, Darren Emerson, Danny Rampling, Paul Oakenfold, Boy George, the Trophy Twins, the Hoxton Whores, Paolo Mojo, Demi, Jon Pleased Wimmin, Parks & Wilson aka Tilt and Dave Seaman. He was also the resident DJ at Coventry University's students union where he played the warm up sets for Sunscreem, Orbital and Underworld. At the end of 1996 Scott moved to Paris and later Amsterdam for a short time taking in two differing scenes. In 1997 he relocated to Ibiza where he played at Manumission's Bar M throughout the summer season. Back in London in 1998, he DJ’ed at a selection of bars and private parties, with the occasional guest appearance at Kinky Malinki, while also putting lots of energy and experience into promoting several other one-off club events across the capital. Scott was the co-promoter behind Envy, the successful London club night that launched in 2002 at the Eve Club and that had a policy of showcasing the freshest new DJ talent in the UK dance music scene - the first of those talents being Paolo Mojo who is now a global star. Around this time, Scott also played at We Are You at the Hanover Grand, Es Vive in Ibiza, City Loud at Turnmills and The Cross. He also travelled to wherever opportunities took him including a massive party on Sentosa beach in Singapore in 2003. In that same year he bought a place out in Ibiza. He now bases himself there each summer season taking his sound to the White Isle and every year since, has put on a series of pre-club and after party events at the Savannah Beach Club. He has also appeared on the odd occasion as a guest DJ at Bar Zuka, Es Vive's Smirnoff Lounge and more recently at Eden and Aura. The work he does in the Events and Hospitality industry allows him to work with other creatives and with the likes of Velvet Entertainment, The Hospital, Urban Caprice, Estee Lauder, P&G and Talk PR to name but a few. Providing DJ services and musical direction for bars, clubs, product launches, private and corporate events, fashion shows, after parties, awards and celebrity parties, he has built up a wealth of priceless experience. This gives him the opportunity to spread his work between clubland and the corporate entertainment world, where he has played at a number of high profile events such as the BAFTA Awards after party, Headmasters' Salon Awards, the P&G Beauty Awards and the BlackBerry Curve launch at the Kensington Roof Gardens, with Mark Ronson and Natasha Bedingfield. In London he puts on his own night called Intercity at Farringdon's Fluid Bar & Club and regularly appears as a guest DJ at a selection of the capital’s top clubs. The Hospital members' club and bar in Covent Garden sees Scott continue to deliver a regular monthly residency with a few twists and turns through various musical genres, aimed at surprising and stimulating the uber-cool and expectant media crowd. He stands out as a DJ with a unique style unlike any other and now writes his own material with production partner in crime and ex-band member Ben Corbett under the name 'Collider'. With releases on Big Mix Up Records, Axis Trax, Phunk Solution, Shute and Jeepers! they are fast gaining a reputation for their unique sound and versatility with remixes. They make a formidable duo who are causing a stir on the electro-tech house scene. Gaining regular support for their productions from the global A-list DJ community, they constantly keep up their thirst for remix collaborations and other musical projects. Also making music with Philipp Ort of Black & White Orange Records under the production name Ort & D'Souza, you can expect plenty of output to come from this latest collaboration. A very talented and passionate DJ with years of experience, Scott really is a genuine artist with a musicians background and a truly dedicated performer whose aim is always to uplift and drive energy into the crowds he plays to!
